As concerned students and members of the broader Bozeman community, we are appalled that Montana State University is actively supporting research programs and technology that is used for genocide, war crimes, and mass surveillance everywhere (including here in the United States).

What is the Innovation Campus?
The Innovation Campus is a swath of land owned by the MSU Alumni Foundation and managed by Charter Realty that is located right in Bozeman, in-between S 19th Ave and W College St. The Innovation Campus is designed to “facilitate new and in-depth partnerships between the Montana State University and private sector businesses".
That is a fancy way of saying that the land is used to lease out space to private companies and secretive research projects, including military and weapons manufacturing companies that have direct goals of supplying the Israeli military, an entity convicted of genocide, and US law enforcement with technology for mass surveillance.
MSU students are also actively recruited to engage in research with the Innovation Campus and in other areas at MSU that are dedicated to military research under the guise of scientific inquiry.

MSU conducts research for the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy, and other U.S. Government departments and agencies. This research is taking place in multiple departments on campus and in the Innovation Campus. This photo shows the Applied Research Lab (ARL), a facility for top secret research regarding "defense".
MSU argues that the ARL helps its mission as a land grant university. In reality however, a company located in the building, Metrea, assists the genocidal IDF in their campaign against the Palestinian people of Gaza by flying air surveillance missions - providing IDF with information which can be used to select bombing targets.
The ARL plays on our collective fascinations with top-secret governmental missions. The ARL is marketed as entrepreneurial, solutions based, and as cutting edge research. But we deserve transparency! ALL of us community members should know (and reject) that MSU is creating technology for genocide and mass surveillance right here in Bozeman.

Engine Works
Located on the Innovation Campus, Engine Works leases out space to private companies. The MSU Alumni Foundation is the landlord and has no policy about who can lease out space. Currently, Engine Works hosts Reveal Technology, a company that supplies the Israeli military and US law enforcement with technology of mass surveillance. Reveal Technology proudly and openly states in their mission statement goals of delivering "lethality".
We must reject any ties to PROUD GENOCIDE supporters at MSU.
Reveal Technology develops technology that will harm us all. The company creates technology for "real time 2D and 3D modeling of physical structures, environments, humans, and vehicles".
Mass Surveillance will harm us all!

The MSU Alumni Foundation is a nonprofit organization that does the financial bidding of the university. All colleges/universities have a private alumni foundation. Because the Alumni Foundation is a private organization, it makes it harder to get the financial info... In reality, this allows universities to make money off of unethical enterprises without clear transparency to the community.
